Lost-wax casting · Reply within hours, first quote within 24 hours
Investment casting precise parts, close to final shape.
Investment casting, also called lost-wax casting, produces complex metal parts with fine detail and a good surface, often with little machining. We source investment castings from foundries in India, Turkey, China and Europe, and deliver them machined and finished.
- Steel, stainless and alloys
- Machined to drawing
- Prototypes to series
When to use it
When investment casting is the right choice
Compared with machining from solid or sand casting.
Complex shapes
Internal channels, thin walls and detailed features that would be expensive to machine.
Less machining
Parts come out close to their final shape, so material and machining time are saved.
Good surface finish
A smoother surface than sand casting, often good enough without extra finishing.
Wide choice of alloys
Carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, and other alloys by agreement.
Medium volumes
Wax tooling costs less than die-casting tools, so it suits hundreds to tens of thousands of parts.
Typical parts
Pump and valve components, levers, brackets, impellers, and machine and vehicle parts.
Where we make it
Choosing the right foundry location
We recommend a location per part, based on volume, tolerance and lead time.
India
Strong investment casting base and competitive prices for medium and larger series.
Turkey
Close to the EU, with shorter lead times by truck.
China and Europe
China for large series; Italy, Poland and Germany for urgent or small orders.

FAQ
Investment casting questions
Not answered here? Ask us directly. We reply within a few hours.
Ask a questionWhat is investment casting?
Investment casting makes a wax copy of the part, coats it in ceramic, melts the wax out and pours metal into the ceramic shell. It produces accurate, complex parts with a good surface.
Which materials can be investment cast?
Common choices are carbon and alloy steels and stainless steels. Other alloys are possible depending on the foundry. Send your material specification and we find a suitable foundry.
Do you deliver machined castings?
Yes. We deliver castings as cast, or machined, heat treated and finished to your drawing.
What quantities make sense?
Investment casting usually suits volumes from a few hundred to tens of thousands of parts per year. For one-off parts, machining is often cheaper.
What documents do I get?
Material certificates, dimensional reports and, on request, non-destructive testing reports.
