When to use it
When die casting is the right choice
Die casting pays off when volumes are high enough to spread the tooling cost.
High volumes
Thousands to hundreds of thousands of parts per year at low unit cost.
Thin walls and detail
Accurate parts with thin walls, ribs and bosses, and good repeatability.
Light and strong
Aluminium die castings for housings, covers, heat sinks and brackets.
Zinc for small parts
Zinc die casting for small, detailed parts with a good surface for plating.
Tooling you own
The die is made for you and stays your property, stored at the foundry.
Finishing
Machining, powder coating, anodising, plating and assembly as needed.

FAQ
Die casting questions
Not answered here? Ask us directly. We reply within a few hours.
Ask a questionHow much does a die-casting tool cost?
It depends on part size, complexity and the number of cavities. We give you a tooling price and a unit price together, so you can compare countries and volumes.
What is the minimum quantity for die casting?
Die casting usually makes sense from a few thousand parts per year. For smaller quantities, sand or investment casting, or machining, is often cheaper.
Can you machine and coat the castings?
Yes. We deliver castings machined, coated and assembled to your drawing.
Who owns the die?
You do once it is paid for. We agree ownership in writing and can move the tool to another foundry if needed.
Which alloys do you use?
Common aluminium die-casting alloys and zinc alloys. Send your specification and we match it.
